Alvaro Morata has bid farewell to his Atletico Madrid team-mates and confirmed he will sign for AC Milan.
The Rossoneri have decided to activate his €13m release clause and he is expected to undergo a medical in Madrid on Wednesday, July 17.
After celebrating winning Euro 2024 with Morata as Spain captain and lifting the trophy in Berlin following a 2-1 win over England, the forward headed to the Madrid training ground to collect his belongings from his locker.
On his way out of training, he pulled over to talk to journalists from UFABET and confessed that he was moving to Milan.
“I still have to go through a physical exam, but yeah.”
He also spoke to Cadena Cope at the training ground.
“I say goodbye to my teammates. It’s important for me to thank them for everything because they helped me all the way. I also thank the manager, Miguel Angel Gil, Carlos Busero and Andrea Berta…”
“There were times when I wasn’t having a good time. When you’re in a place where you can’t give 100 percent for some reason, this option is better for everyone. I don’t want to lie.”
“For me, winning the trophy with the Atleti shirt is like lifting the European Cup. I wore the Atletico Madrid logo on my shin guards throughout the tournament.”
It is a return to Serie A for the forward, who turns 32 in October, having previously been at Juventus from 2014 to 2016 and again from 2020 to 2022.
His contract with Atletico Madrid expires in June 2026 and he has also been linked with Al-Qadsiah.
